Our commitment to keeping you safe

We're doing all we can to ensure you have an enjoyable and safe Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show, in the easiest way possible! On this page you can read about the changes we have made to help keep everyone safe.

This information will be updated to reflect the latest government guidelines so please ensure you check back before making your final preparations for the show for the most up to date information.

Covid Status Checks

We require proof of COVID status upon entry for everyone.

The NEC will be conducting checks as you enter the venue and you will be issued with a wristband, valid for the day, to show your status has been verified.

See the NEC website for full details

Children under the age of 18 do not need to provide any form of COVID-status certification but are encouraged to take a lateral flow test.

In summary this currently includes one of the following:

  • A valid NHS COVID-19 Pass shown via the NHS App or downloaded and saved to your phone’s wallet
  • A lateral flow or PCR negative test result confirmation text or e-mail, received within 48 hours prior to attending the event
  • An EU Digital COVID Certificate. International visitors can show their equivalent COVID Pass from their country of origin.

Covid Pass Assistance

Want help with the app?

The NHS App is simple to set up, however we recommend that you do this well in advance as it can take up to 24 hours to verify your identity.

Don't have a phone?

If you do not have a smart phone or do not wish to use the app, you can request a letter displaying your NHS COVID Pass.

Need to order a lateral flow test?

If you wish to prove your status via a Lateral Flow Test, you can order them online or pick them up at any chemist or test site.

Order a test

For those visitors who cannot provide their COVID-status, the NEC Venue Protect team will offer the option to take a lateral flow test on-site. If the result is negative, you will be able to enter the venue. The lateral flow test costs £12 per person. This charge covers the costs of staffing the testing, the on-site arrangements and the cost of purchasing the test. The NEC does not make a profit from the test charge.

Planning your event

While there are no government restrictions in place with regards to stand layout, we recommend you design your stand space with others comfort and well-being in mind.

What to consider:

  • how your customers will feel entering your stand space
  • how your staff will feel manning your stand
  • how you would feel entering your stand space
  • we recommend you provide hand
    sanitiser on your stand.

NEC Catering.
