Planning ahead will help you get the most out of your visit to the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show. The below guide outlines the options for getting to the venue, where to eat and stay while you are there, plus information for our visitors who may need additional assistance.

Getting to the Classic Car & Restoration Show

Getting to the show is simple, located in the heart of England so it is very accessible, wherever you are coming from. There are a number of ways you can get to us across the weekend, from car, bus, rail or even air.

Within a stone's throw of the venue, you'll find the M42, Birmingham International train station and Airport, so whether you are coming by car, bus, rail or air, both our domestic and international visitors can join us easily.

By Car

Travel by Car

The NEC is clearly signposted from all motorways and major routes including the M42, M40 and M6.
 

Once you arrive at the NEC, follow the signs to the show and you will be directed to a car park by the traffic team.

Travel by Train

Birmingham International station is only a few minutes walk from the show halls.

Save ££s by parking at a nearby station and doing the rest by train.

By Coach or Bus

Travel by Coach

National Express runs coach services from across the UK to Birmingham International Airport, which is a short transfer to the NEC.

By Plane

Travel by Plane

Several operators fly in and out of Birmingham International Airport (BHX).

A monorail links Birmingham International Airport to the NEC in 10-15 minutes.

Parking

Parking at the venue is operated and managed by the NEC (not the show).

Pre-booked parking costs £12.95 per car. Paying on-the-day costs £17.95 per car and you could be subject to queuing.

Disabled parking bays for blue badge holders are available and are allocated upon arrival by NEC traffic staff. Disabled parking is charged at the standard parking rate.

Regular shuttle buses run from the NEC car parks to the halls.

Where to Eat

Food & Drink - NEC

There are food outlets all around the halls of the NEC, and in the Piazza, offering everything from sandwiches to full 3-course meals with prices varying accordingly.

You can use the public seating areas in the halls and Piazza if you would like to bring your own lunch. 

Please note: many food and drink outlets are now only accepting card payments to encourage contactless payment.

Assisted Access

Booking tickets with assisted access

If you have a disability that restricts your ability to attend the show on your own, to the extent where a helper is needed, then a carer can be admitted free of charge to assist you.

Please select this ticket type during the online booking process. You will need proof of disability to be admitted.

If you opt for on-the-door tickets, visit the Box Office when you arrive at the NEC to collect your carer ticket when you buy your own. You will need to bring proof of disability with you to arrange this.

Assistance at the NEC

If you have any queries or need assistance during your visit, please contact any member of the NEC staff who will be happy to help.

Male and female wheelchair accessible toilets are provided throughout the venue.

Disabled parking bays for blue badge holders are allocated upon arrival by NEC traffic staff. The NEC disabled parking is charged at the standard rate (£12.95 in advance / £17.95 on the day). 

A limited number of manual wheelchairs are available to hire free of charge to registered disabled visitors and for £5.00 per day for all other visitors. These are offered on a first come first served basis. Electric scooters can be hired for £15.00 per day. 

We advise visitors to pre-book to avoid disappointment by emailing info@necgroup.co.uk with your name, contact number and detais of when you will require the equipement.
