Giuseppe Rampello – 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale

Giuseppe Rampello – 1993 Lancia Delta HF Integrale

The Delta Integrale was launched in 1988 and allowed Lancia to achieve success at the highest levels of rallying, and the original model would be followed by more powerful 16-valve and Evolution versions. Production ended in 1994 with just over 44,000 made.

Giuseppe’s stunning example is in completely original condition and has never been restored. “I’ve owned it for twenty three years, and there are strong memories of my father. He wasn’t a ‘car guy’ but he was still so excited that I’d bought my dream car, and we opened a bottle of champagne to celebrate!”

The proud owner goes on say that he considers the Integrale to be the world’s greatest rally car, so to have his own model makes ownership very special indeed. Found by accident in one of the car sales magazines popular at the time he adds that everything about it seemed perfect.

It’s stunning to look at, and thanks to the strong performance it’s pretty amazing on the road, too. We can certainly understand why he was so keen to snap it up, and although he says he doesn’t get to use it enough this is a car that any fan of Italian classics would love to have in their garage.

And this particular Italian classic is a bit of a star.  It’s been the winner of a number of concours competitions, including ten class awards with the Lancia Motor Club and a Masterclass winner on four occasions. Best Lancia in the Auto Italia concours was another special result.

That’s not all as readers of Classic Cars and EVO magazines might have seen it within their pages, and it has also appeared in the hugely popular television show, Car SOS. It’s something that Giuseppe says really adds to the ownership experience.
