The Must-See Celebrity Metal at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show
The roar of an engine is one thing, but a car with a famous story is quite another. This year’s Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show is bringing the small screen to the show floor, offering a rare chance to get up close and personal with vehicles usually reserved for your television at home. From legendary "as-seen-on-TV" survivors to personal projects straight from the private garages of motoring’s biggest names, the star power on display this weekend is truly world-class.

Spotlight on the U Stand: This Weekend’s Featured Icons
The team at U are set to bring a standout selection of cars including:
1983 Ford Escort RS1600i

Off the road for 15 years, Irv agreed to restore this classic Mk3 fast Ford from an owner who had to give it up due to ill health. However, as seen in an episode of Classic Car Kings on U, it turned out to be a much bigger job than anyone imagined. Once perfectly restored, the former owner quickly agreed to buy the car back!
1983 Lancia Beta

Sheldon Nichols had a job on his hands when his Dream Car Fixers client wanted a Lancia Beta. The budget was tight, but Sheldon tracked one down, and together with his new teammate, Will Trickett, the pair delivered this superb example to the lucky new owner. See the car in a forthcoming episode of Dream Car Fixers later this year on U.
1975 MGB GT

This MGB has just 45,500 miles on the clock, and like all the best classics bought at auction it came with a bag of parts and a stack of paperwork in the boot. Will MGB stand for Mighty Good Bargain for the Bangers & Cash team? Unlikely! The car will feature in a future episode of Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics on U.
The Spannerpod

Affectionately known as the “Spannerpod”, the Bangers & Cash transporter is used to move the cars the Bangers & Cash: Restoring Classics team have bought at auction to restorers all over the country. if you see it on the road, you never know what might be in the back. It could be a beautifully restored Lotus Elan S1, or a battered and un-loved Fiat 126 on its way to an unsuspecting restorer.
A Wheeler Dealers Icon: Mike Brewer's Hillman Imp!

Catch a genuine TV icon as Mike Brewer showcases his 1960 Hillman Imp from the Wheeler Dealers World Tour. This rear-engined classic survived a shoestring budget restoration in Scotland, overcoming the model’s famous overheating reputation. It’s a rare chance to see this plucky, British engineering marvel exactly as it appeared on screen.
The Resilient Minor: Steph Hoy’s 1968 Morris Minor

Back on the road after a rear-end shunt in December, Steph of idriveaclassic is bringing her 1968 ex-government disability Morris Minor to the NEC. Freshly tuned by Paul Fish and AC Dodd, she’s back shinier and faster than ever!!
