As a major part of our Club Display at this years Practical Classics Car & Restoration Show, we are pleased to announce that we will be displaying a possibly unique Volvo Limousine - a 1954 Volvo PV831, a royal car once owned by King Gustaf Vl of Sweden
As part of our display, we will be removing the engine, 6cyl 3.7 Litre Side Valve Volvo ED Engine, which was produced by Volvo Penta (weight aprrox 4cwt) The engine having some years ago suffered a catastrophic failure which seized the engine and thus car went into longterm storage
It is planned to removed the eninge from the car over the weekend and start the process of striping the seized parts ready for it's full rebuild and return to the road ready for Volvo's 100th Birthday in 2027
During the Show the vehicles Brakes will also be inspected, replacement of damaged Brake Pipes fitted and a rebuilt Brake Master Cylinder fitted, befre the system is bleed
