The SIMCA 1000 Rallye 2 was a 1294cc twin carb 82bhp version of SIMCAs rear engined model. While rare here in the UK, it featured in a one make racing series, reputed to be the largest of its kind at the time. The 'SIMCA Racing Team' saw its heyday through the '70s, '75 being a high point. While Rallye 2's are still very active in events around mainland Europe, they were always rare here in the UK. In the photo, myself, Phil Hart and Jim Woodstock regularly 'fly the flag' at trackdays in the UK. Jim's car will feature on our stand 5-040 along with another that we'll be working on to restore.
