2026 will see two anniversaries being celebrated by the MSCC. The first is that it is 90 years since the first 4-4 models were put into production. 4-4 indicating four wheels and four cylinders to differentiate them from the Morgan 3 wheelers. The last major change to the 4/4 was in 1956 when the present body shape was adopted with the famous "waterfall" cowl. The 4/4 was in production until 2018 making it the longest production run of a car model.
75 years ago a group of Morgan owners met at the Flying Horse pub in Kegworth - near to the Donington racetrack - and as a result formed the Morgan 4-4 club which a few years later changed its name to the Morgan Sports Car Club. We are celebrating this anniversary in 2026 with a number of events - the first if which will be a presence at the Practical Classics Restoration Show at the NEC in March. There you will have a chance to get up close and personal with a handful of Morgans - one iof which will be a 4/4.
Please come along and have a chat we would love to meet you- we may even give you one of our special 75th anniversary badges - if they are ready in time!
