CRAYFORD CLUB TO SHOW EX NEC MOTOR SHOW TR7 ESTATE
The Crayford Convertible Car Club will display the unique off Crayford Triumph TR7 Esate , full 4 seater sortswagen called "The Tracer" after its bullit like profile. Commisioned by Page Motors of Epsom a Triumph main dealer for the NEC Motor Show of 1980. Not one order was taken for Tracer Estate at the Motor show, it was expensive and with the rear seats up there was no luggage space. Twin rear inner wing fuel tanks reduce boot space even more, it could only carry one floppy bag in pratice. the prototype was sold post Motor Show and registered TPE 944S. Later it spent years in switzerland. Returning to uk it has been restored to new in its origianal yellow colour by TR7 restorer Chris Turner. It remains a unique one off prototype but years later the Volvo ES sports estate copied the concept with great sales success.
