The Focus MK1 Preservation Club was established in April 2023 as a free-Facebook entity between a group of enthusiasts with the aim of promoting the preservation of MK1 examples around the world. During the last few years the club has grown enormously in status and the enthusiasm from the community grew too, so we decided to become a member-funded organisation similar to many established car clubs today. This change has just occurred and this has created more opportunities for the clubs growth and influence on supporting the enjoyment and preservation of these great vehicles. The only catch - we place an emphasis on originality or subtle OEM-modifications and not heavy modifications which either drastically alter the appearance or drive of the vehicle. We are a purist club at heart!
One of the club’s unique strong points is our down-to-earth, friendly and warm club feel. We have a zero tolerance for poor behaviour that reflects badly on the club community and as a result members feel more welcome and comfortable within the club community, something which we really pride ourselves on!
Membership can be obtained through our website and is an annual payment of £10 which is probably the lowest compared to most other clubs. The club hosts large national events and smaller local events run by members in their regions. We also have the biggest archive of MK1 literature preserved in our members area and a hugely insightful ‘Parts Bible’ which helps members locate hard-to-find parts and make part searching far easier in the long-term. We have our Facebook group which is only accessible to members as our “forum/chat-room” and have formed links with well-known Ford magazines recently!
Come and join the club whether you have a MK1 or not, as long as you're an enthusiast of the car and feel you can join a friendly and welcoming community then please come, you probably won’t want to leave!
