Rover Sports Register: Engines Turned Live on Stand

The Rover Sports Register is celebrating milestones across the decades, from 50 years of the Rover SD1 to 40 years of the Rover 800, while giving visitors a hands-on look at classic Rover engineering.

On the stand, the focus will be firmly on live engine restoration, with members tackling a range of vehicles including:

  • A 1939 Rover 20 Drophead Coupe, restored from semi-dereliction—a true “before and after” story

  • Rover P5 and P5B models, maintained to the highest standards

  • A 1932 Rover 10 Special, where a modern engine and gearbox have been carefully grafted in, letting the owner enjoy vintage motoring with reliability

  • A 2003 Rover 45, representing the youngtimer classic enthusiast

Visitors can watch as club members strip, service, and bring engines back to life, sharing tips and demonstrations on how to care for these iconic Rovers. From vintage pre-war classics to more modern classics, the stand offers a masterclass in engine restoration, maintenance, and passion for the marque.
