Lagonda V8 or V12? AstonOwners.com Puts the Big Question to Visitors

AstonOwners.com is bringing serious Aston Martin presence to the show this year and they’re inviting visitors to help make a bold decision that could reshape a rare 1970s icon.

Taking pride of place on the stand is the striking Lagonda ‘Wedge’ V8, partially stripped as it undergoes renovation and now fitted with its freshly restored V8 engine. Alongside it sits a beautifully restored Aston Martin V12 engine and here’s where things get interesting.

Should the Lagonda keep its V8 heart… or make way for a V12 conversion?

Visitors are being asked to cast a simple Yes or No vote on the stand, helping owner Richard Furse decide the car’s future direction. Is it a visionary upgrade something Aston Martin might have done had the V12 been available in 1976? Or is it pure sacrilege? The final result of the poll will be announced before the show closes on Sunday.

Richard, co-founder of AstonOwners.com, will be on hand all weekend to answer questions, debate the idea, and share insights into the not-for-profit community he helped build, a platform dedicated to keeping Aston Martins where they belong: on the road. From solving electronic module issues to sourcing near-unobtainable parts and developing sympathetic upgrades, the group is deeply involved in practical ownership solutions.

A Stand Packed with Aston Martin Icons

Beyond the headline-making Lagonda debate, AstonOwners.com is showcasing an impressive lineup of cars, including:

  • DB9 6.5L

  • DB5 (displayed in semi-restored state)

  • V8 Roadster

  • Lagonda undergoing renovation

The display offers a rare opportunity to see these cars at different stages of preservation and restoration, from beautifully finished examples to projects mid-journey.

Live Talks & Expert Insight

Rather than live mechanical demonstrations, the stand will host a series of scheduled talks across the weekend, covering:

  • Restoration insights and project planning

  • Touring with a classic Aston Martin

  • Tackling known issues on VH platform models

  • Celebrating the 25th Anniversary of the Vanquish

It’s a chance to hear directly from experienced owners and specialists about maintaining, restoring and truly enjoying these iconic British grand tourers.

Whether you’re drawn by the technical debate, the rare machinery on display, or the chance to deepen your Aston knowledge, the AstonOwners.com stand promises conversation, expertise and a little bit of controversy, exactly what a great classic car show is all about.
