The Jowett Car Club will be celebrating the 80th anniversary of the Jowett Bradford with a uniquely curated working display showcasing several rare and fascinating variants of this much-loved commercial vehicle.

Vehicles on display
  • 1948 Jowett Bradford ‘Woodie’ Shooting Brake (HVP 620)
    A truly unique vehicle bodied by Frank Grounds Ltd and still owned by the Grounds family. This rare Bradford will be recommissioned live on the stand during the show.

  • 1947 Jowett Bradford Utility (LS 4878)
    Built with a distinctive two-piece tailgate for use by its original market garden owner. Now in long-term ownership of a Jowett Car Club member, this Bradford will also undergo live recommissioning after many years in storage.

  • 1949 Jowett Bradford Ice Cream Van (MHT 670)
    An extraordinarily rare and highly original Briggs-bodied ice cream van, still wearing its original livery. Major restoration work on this remarkable survivor will begin live at the show.

Live restoration & demonstrations

Visitors will be able to see hands-on restoration and recommissioning work throughout the event, including:

  • Live engine starts on vehicles that have been laid up for many years

  • Brake system rebuilds

  • Electrical fault-finding and repairs

  • General servicing and maintenance

  • Specialist coachwork and bodywork restoration

  • Cosmetic paintwork correction

Together, these three highly distinctive Jowett Bradfords form a standout working display, offering a rare opportunity to see historically important vehicles being brought back to life in real time.
