Jaguar XJS Club Gears Up for Live Restorations at the Show
The Jaguar XJS Club stand will be a hub of live restoration, hands-on learning and serious Jaguar V12 knowledge.
Across the weekend, visitors can watch live restoration work taking place on the stand, with club members carrying out demonstrations covering bodywork repairs, braking system overhauls, rear subframe restoration, door actuator fixes and general XJS maintenance. It’s a rare opportunity to see these jobs tackled up close and to pick up practical advice on keeping an XJS on the road.
Taking centre stage is a truly special car: a fully restored 1985 Jaguar XJS Hypersport V12 from collector and restorer Simon Spurrell. First seen on the stand last year while still mid-restoration, the car has since been completely stripped, repainted and rebuilt, at an estimated cost of around £75,000. It now runs a rebuilt Pre-HE high-compression 5.3-litre V12, upgraded with a Mobeck EFI conversion and a 3-speed clutchless manual transmission, inspired by drag racing setups.
Supporting the live work is a fascinating cross-section of XJS projects, showing the full restoration journey:
-

For the second year running, the club is also delighted to welcome Paul Hands, founder of Hyper Engineering, who will be on hand to discuss the Hypersport and celebrate the golden era of Jaguar modification and racing during the 1980s and 90s.
Whether you’re maintaining an XJS, restoring one from the ground up, or simply fascinated by Jaguar’s V12 legacy, the Jaguar XJS Club stand offers live restoration in action, expert insight and a front-row seat to some truly remarkable projects.
