The Historic Marathon Rally Group will be showcasing two remarkable competition cars: a 1974 Ford Capri V6 Rally Car and a 1972 ex-works Austin Allegro Rally Car — both with incredible motorsport history.
Live restoration workLive on the stand, the team will be removing the Ford Capri’s engine, replacing leaking oil seals, and refitting the engine, giving visitors a rare, behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to keep historic rally cars running.
The Ford Capri competed in both the 1970 and 1974 World Cup Rallies, while the ex-works Austin Allegro will be displayed exactly as found. In very poor condition with extensive rust and accident damage, it’s a powerful reminder of the reality of saving historic competition cars — and why restoration work matters.
