Focus MK1 Preservation Club
The Focus MK1 Preservation Club is bringing three fantastic examples of Ford’s iconic first-generation Focus to the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show:
-
2001 Focus Ghia Saloon (Pacific Green) – A rare saloon version and the club’s main driver, with just 69K miles. Maintained to original specification, this car will receive a complete rear suspension replacement live on the stand, giving visitors a hands-on look at the technical brilliance of the MK1 setup and highlighting areas prone to age-related wear.
-
2002 Focus Ghia 5-Dr Hatchback – Cherished throughout its life and now a weekend driver, this car features subtle OEM-style upgrades including a rare Recaro ST170 leather interior and lower mesh-style ST170 bumper grille. Visitors will see the team perform essential maintenance, such as cleaning the inlet manifold, demonstrating practical ways to care for your MK1.
-
2002 Focus Zetec 3-Dr (Automatic) – A concourse-level, fully original example, recently retired to club duties by its first owner of 14 years. This car represents the pinnacle of preservation and will provide a close-up view of how an original MK1 can be maintained over time.
Visitors to the stand will get a first-hand look at live restoration and maintenance work, including suspension overhaul and engine bay servicing, giving invaluable insight into keeping these classic Fords in tip-top condition.
Whether you’re a long-time MK1 enthusiast or a fan of clever engineering and practical restorations, the Focus MK1 Preservation Club stand promises hands-on learning, inspiration, and a celebration of one of Britain’s most loved compact classics.
