Rare and Remarkable: UK VW Trekkers Showcase Unique Builds
The UK VW Trekkers will be bringing a fascinating line-up of rare and highly individual vehicles to the Show, celebrating one of Volkswagen’s most unusual and seldom-seen models.
The star of the display will be a freshly restored and fully customised Volkswagen Trekker, which has undergone a complete engine swap and now runs a Subaru powerplant, blending classic utility with modern performance.
Joining it will be a largely original military Trekker, offering a glimpse into the vehicle’s rugged service roots, alongside an extremely rare UK-market example that has been fully restored and tastefully modified with Porsche wheels and a dramatic roof chop.
Visitors will also be able to see a hot rod–inspired Trekker, rebuilt in the style of a traditional American custom, showing just how adaptable these quirky machines can be.
Rounding out the display will be a very early military Trekker currently in the final stages of preparation, complete with original markings and plenty of authentic patina, a race against the clock to have it ready for the show.
Although there won’t be live work taking place on the stand, the collection promises to be a must-see for enthusiasts. The Trekker itself is an extremely rare model, and with so many different interpretations on display, the club’s stand perfectly illustrates why no two Trekkers ever look quite the same.
