Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership

Showcase your freshly restored pride and joy!

 

The Lancaster Insurance Pride of Ownership competition is now open for entries. We are looking for a diverse range of classics, each with an interesting history, compelling restoration or heartwarming story. The owners of the selected cars being showcased at the event will each receive two show tickets per day and free parking throughout the weekend. The top 3, chosen by the show visitors, will be awarded with trophies and the overall winner will receive a VIP weekend at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2018, plus an overnight stay at the luxury Wroxall Abbey Hotel & Estate. To enter please send two pictures of your car, before and after, with a brief description including year, make and model to andrea@poppyseedmedia.co.uk. Spaces are limited so don't delay your application.

Classic Car Auctions

Classic Car Auctions will be making its Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show debut with not one, but a two-day weekend sale on Saturday 1st & Sunday 2nd April 2017. With them they will be bringing around 200 cars that’ll go under the hammer from no reserve to £70,000+!

The Workshop

Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show is proud to partner with the specialised team at Leeds City College hosts of the 'Workshop' at this year’s show, lead by Course Tutor Michael Coman & sponsored by Skill Shack.

 

The experts from Leeds City College return to man our Workshop, sponsored by Skill Shack, where you could enjoy the demonstrations and expert advice throughout the weekend.

Course tutor Mike Coman and the team will offer a daily schedule of fascinating demonstrations, focusing on developing your practical bodywork skills to help you improve your techniques and show you new ways of working.  Dedicated insights will be given on tasks such as lead loading, wheeling and panel work that will help you complete all your restoration tasks when you get back to your home garage. 

Mike and the team will also hold demonstrations covering popular topics, aimed at both novices and advanced restorers, where they give in-depth advice and offer a dedicated Q&A opportunity at the end of each demo.

Feel free to ask advice on specific jobs, restoration tasks and any other motoring mechanical advice needed.

Drive a Classic Car Experience

The ‘Drive a Classic Car Experience’ is an exclusive opportunity to get behind the wheel of a classic car and drive, at the 2017 Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show. 

An array of HERO’s Arrive & Drive cars will be available for guests to take the wheel on a specially created driving route around the NEC's show buildings.  From a Porsche 911 to what many people believe to be the purists rally car, a Ford Cortina GT along with a variety of cars guests will have the opportunity to drive one of these incredible classic cars themselves.

The Practical Classics Live Stage with Discovery

Wheeler Dealer's Mike Brewer and For the Love of Cars Ant Anstead will be joining in the motoring mayhem on the Practical Classics Live Stage with Discovery Channel, alongside PC Editor Danny Hopkins and his trusty Deputy James Walshe. The stage will have a jam packed programme of car parades, a 48-hour restoration and a selection of Mike and Ants' 'Star Cars'!

The Practical Classics' team will also be bringing together experts from across the classic car industry to bring you a full-on line up of master classes, hints, tips and advice from key industry experts. Best of all, this is all included in your ticket price. All you need to do is get to the stage early to get a good seat!

Sporting Bear's Dream Rides

The Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show are thrilled to work with the Sporting Bears again in 2017. What better way is there to raise money for charity than by taking a ten mile passenger ride in the car of your dreams? 

‘Dream Rides’, run by charity organisation The Sporting Bears Motor Club, offers visitors the opportunity to jump into and experience some of the most spectacular cars in the world, and all you have to do is donate to a wonderful cause. In exchange for a charitable donation, you can pick from the cars in the 'Dream Rides' garage which car you would like to take a ten-mile passenger ride in - the size of the donation depends on the car you choose. 

Trader Village and Autojumble

The extensive trader village and Autojumble will offer everything you need for the coming season – be it as a driver, mechanic, crew or an ardent enthusiast. A treasure trove for those tackling restoration projects, the popular Autojumble will feature over 100 stands in Hall 12 offering all sorts of parts, spares, tools and oddments.

Barn Finds

Hidden treasures are to appear in the UK's biggest barn find display at the Practical Classics Classic Car & Restoration Show 2017!

The Car Clubs

Welcome to the classic vehicle clubs with their stunning restoration and classic vehicle displays.  Classic vehicle clubs remain the life blood of the classic vehicle community. It is club members that work tirelessly to ensure these fantastic marques are not forgotten and remain on our roads as long as possible, so enthusiasts of all ages can enjoy our motoring heritage.

For 2017, the organisers have created more club stands than ever before to showcase club vehicles in everything from 'barn-finds' through to concours condition.  Many will be actively working on restoring or servicing vehicles on their stands at the show.  It's your chance to speak to real 'hands-on' experts for information and advice!
