Come on [R]over to join the celebrations

Restoration show rover 200 400 club
The Rover 200 & 400 Owners Club has got it all going on this year with three BIG anniversaries to celebrate.
Building upon last year's success in celebrating the 30th anniversary of the launch of the 'R8' Rover 200, the club is celebrating the following anniversaries this year:
  • 30 years since the launch of the 'R8' Rover 400 saloon
  • 25 years since the launch of the 'HH-R' Rover 400
  • 25 years since the launch of the 'R3' Rover 200
So providing a great foundation for the choice of vehicles on the stand.

The Owners Club re-ran the R8 Press Launch at Lucknam Park last October, which was a true success! Round up of the event can be found here

Also, on display will be a 1990 Rover 416 GSi in White/Grey duotone, a 1991 Rover 416 GTi in Flame Red, a 1996 Rover 414 Si 5-door in British Racing Green and a 1997 Rover 200 Vi in White - try and say that quickly!

The Vi will be receiving lots of mechanical attention, the other three will be mainly having cosmetic work done to the interior and exterior trim and paintwork.

The Vi is a 51,000-mile one-family-from-new car that has recently been passed onto a club member. It will be de-MG'd during the show - this entails replacing many parts from an MG ZR, that were fitted by the previous owner, with the original parts that have been carefully kept in storage for over a decade. This will include the front and rear seats, front brakes and wheels and tyres. It will also have a cambelt change and probably a precautionary head gasket change too.

The end result will be one of the most original Rover 200 Vis on the road in the UK and there are only 30 of them today!
